POPULAR QUESTIONS
Yes, we can work at night and work around critical access times for existing businesses or pavement uses. If your project has special access needs or agreements in place requiring that access be maintained, we can help you to accommodate this.
No. We cannot pour pavement in rain or wet weather. The oils in the asphalt mix repel water, when rain comes into contact with fresh asphalt, it causes the oil to rise to the surface. This affects the asphalt’s ability to bind to the base coat and effects curing process. and the finished result in a number of ways, none of which are good. Laying asphalt while it is actively raining will cause unintended results that affect the quality of the project. Cracks or holes may form in asphalt that is laid during rainy weather. Cracks and severe damage can also occur as a result of installing asphalt over wet ground that is swollen from recent rainfall.
That depends on the size of the project. We don’t have a lot of small equipment and are geared more toward larger commercial work. It takes quite a bit of effort to mobilize the staff and trucks, and move our paving machines and compactors which factors into the cost of the job. So generally if the job is less than 5,000 square feet it is not cost effective for us to move the equipment and our pricing would not be competitive. However if the project entails a longer than typical driveway and or has significant parking pavement, then we may be competitive.
